Ananya Kaushal Bio

From belting out her own songs wherever inspiration struck to enthusiastically dancing on the family room table to Ricky Martin songs, music has been a focal point in Ananya's life since the moment she could speak. She began nurturing her passion for singing in early elementary school by taking voice lessons and joining the Milwaukee Children's Choir.

Currently, Ananya Kaushal is a mezzo-soprano studying under Lorraine Nubar at the Juilliard Pre-College Vocal Arts program. She has had the privilege of attending various prestigious programs, including the Boston University Tanglewood Young Artists Vocal Program, Onstage Collective and Luke Housner's LAHSOW 2023 Die Zauberflöte workshop. Ananya is also a two-time alum of the Songbook Academy, where she worked with Russ Kassoff and Daryl Kojak.

She has received a scholarship from the George and Nora London Foundation and was a semi-finalist in the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition. In 2022, she earned first place in the Commercial Music category and received the Robert T. Sataloff Award for Best High School Performance at the Greater Philadelphia District NATS Student Auditions. Ananya has also enjoyed performing in musical theater, with some of her most notable roles including Jasmine in Aladdin and Lady Larken in Once Upon a Mattress. She has had the honor of performing at venues such as the Palladium in Carmel, Indiana, Carnegie Hall and 54 Below in New York City.

Beyond singing, Ananya is deeply passionate about education. One of her most cherished pastimes is tutoring math. She works with a wide range of students - from preschoolers learning how to count to high schoolers tackling calculus. As a tutor, Ananya enjoys the challenge of finding teaching methods that align with each student's learning style, while also building their confidence and enhancing their critical thinking skills. She believes that helping students understand the logic behind math not only improves their proficiency but also equips them with the tools to become successful, independent problem solvers.
