
Lorraine Nubar Bio
Lorraine Nubar has been a faculty member at the Juilliard School (New York) since 1978. She was the first American teacher at the CNSMD in Paris, where she prepared singers for the Paris Opera and the Lyon Opera. She has taught master classes at Acantos, the Royaumont Foundation and the Nice International Summer Academy. She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the Juilliard School in New York, where she studied with and assisted Jennie Tourel. She also studied and taught at the Aspen Music Festival.

She studied with William Vennard, Daniel Ferro, Martial Singher and Frank Corsaro in the United States. Additionally, she studied in Europe with Gérard Souzay, Elly Ameling, Janine Reiss, and Dalton Baldwin. Lorraine Nubar’s international career has always been dedicated to both performance and teaching. In the United States, France, Sweden, Japan and beyond, her expressive voice and communicative power have consistently been appreciated.

Lorraine currently serves as the Head of Vocal Faculty at the Juilliard Pre-College Vocal Arts Division.
